Sunnyvale Craftsman Remodel
Front/rear addition to a 1 story Ranch house in a Craftsman style. Materials used are white ledgestone veneer, stained cement fiber shingles, cement fiber trim, painted wood shutters, budget-friendly vinyl windows, and painted wood garage door.
Interior ceiling heights were raised from 8′ to 9′ typically, except at the new great room, which features 11′ ceilings with a 12″ tray. A recently remodeled kitchen was retained but opened up into the new great room to create the “open plan” that is a standard of our designs.
Sunnyvale’s onerous requirements for four on-site parking spaces and “vision triangle” for corner lots had great influence on the design.
