Stanford Mid-Century Addition/Remodel
This striking residence featured an original mid-century gem with clean lines and lots of glass, but suffered from poor spatial flow due to a 42 degree kink in the layout and a poorly conceived kitchen plan. While masking the angle in the plan, judicious relocation of walls and rooms yielded a true master suite, reading area, and access to a new roof deck to capture the stunning views towards San Francisco Bay.
The kitchen was fully remodeled and opened up to the dining and living areas, and two new tower elements for the master bedroom and reading area/mezzanine dramatically punctuate the rear elevation of the house.
