Saratoga Modern Ranch Remodel
With an aggressive budget and schedule, our young clients put us to the test on this design, which yielded one of our best buildings. The existing house featured a large, well-sited single story footprint whose foundation was in good condition, making it an easy decision to forgo a complete teardown in favor or a technical remodel, which also allowed the project to avoid a Planning Commission hearing.
This house features an all-new roof line, raised ceiling heights throughout, covered outdoor space, new window placement, and expansion of garage from two to three car parking. Standard-size clad wood windows from Jeld-Wen and an economical composition shingle roof helped to keep this large home in budget.
Ceiling heights vary from 9′ minimum to 10′ at the master suite, and 11-12′ in the larger public rooms.
