Saratoga Craftsman Addition/Remodel
As the Owners of the only Ranch style home on a traditional street, our clients’ primary objective was to remodel their front elevation to make it more in keeping with the Craftsman neighborhood, while redoing the entire floor plan.
The tight construction budget and City’s zoning restrictions dictated reuse of the existing foundation and exterior walls, which left about a six-foot deep zone in which to execute a small front addition with traditional features reminiscent of the Craftsman style. Reusing the existing entry walk while tying it in to a series of new terraces and landings designed by Studio S Squared further stretched the tight budget.
A rear addition expanded the bedroom and bathroom count, while the front of the house was opened up to allow for a modified great room concept.
