A new two-story house over full basement with a large “cutout” between the living room and family room

New two story house over full basement in Palo Alto’s Midtown neighborhood for a developer client. The house features a large “cutout” between the living room and family room, which brings additional light into these two rooms as well as to a below grade patio serving the basement level.

Our project went through City Planning’s Individual Review process very smoothly, with only a few minor design comments.

We were also retained to provide full interior design services for this project, including specifying all fixtures, colors, and finishes.

The project proved to be a very profitable one for our client, as the house was only on the market for 16 days, eventually selling for $337,000 over asking at $4.825M after multiple offers.
