Los Altos Modern
After originally directing us to develop a “ranch” style new home for them on their large lot, we discovered that our clients also had an appreciation for modern architecture.
A tour of one of our modern designs under construction at that time “Menlo Oaks Modern” cemented their desire to forgo the ranch style in favor of the more free-flowing forms of contemporary architecture.
The preliminary designs feature a unique floor plan that takes its cues from the highly irregular cul-de-sac lot and mature existing landscaping. In many cases the house peels away, notches back, or opens up in order to accommodate existing trees and vegetation.
Large expanses of glass and operable openings further connect this house to its lushly vegetated setting.
